Worst Accidents in Atlanta Recently

deadliest days of summer

Atlanta has had a rough stream of accidents lately, leaving many injured and involving many fatalities. It’s difficult not only for the families directly affected but also for the community and first responders. Everyone in Atlanta has experienced something from these recent accidents, and the only hope is that the upcoming decrease in traffic congestion can reduce the crashes. Unfortunately, many fatalities don’t happen in gridlock, but instead at high speeds on open roads.

Overall, you should always be on the lookout for the next accident and how to avoid it. Take lessons from these accidents to learn how you can improve your defensive driving. The investigations and reports here are not all concluded because of the recent nature.

If you or a loved one have been injured in an accident, our Atlanta, GA car wreck attorneys are here to help.

Downton Connector Wreck Leaves 1 Dead

A recent three-vehicle crash resulted in one fatality near University avenue’s exit on I-75 and I-85 connector. Residents know all too well the troubles that come up on this particular connector. The downtown connector is often overloaded with people rushing to get somewhere and having little consideration for others on the road.

This particular crash led to hours of both freeways being shut down at the connector, and first responders reported extreme property damage. It’s no surprise that this connector has played host to a high volume of accidents. The result is that we should expect to see many more in the near future.

Shots Fired at an Accident Site

A shot fired is part of an open crash investigation, but what isn’t clear is if the shot led to the accident or if it was the result of something else. Aggressive driving practices, including shootings, are not as uncommon as we would like to believe. Instead, aggressive driving practices involving shootings or assaults on the drivers get out of the car, becoming more common throughout Atlanta. Is this one particular instance of something that stands apart from the other situations we’ve seen in recent weeks?

Shots fired at this particular accident resulted in a single-car accident and fatality. As part of the ongoing Atlanta Police Department investigation on this crash, they’re looking to determine at what factors led to this person’s death. This crash was in the middle of a Sunday afternoon and in the Garibaldi street area. No others were hurt, but it’s clear that many people in the area simply aren’t safe behind the wheel.

5 Killed in a Transit Bus Accident

Nearly all the passengers of a Nissan Sentra were killed upon hitting a transit bus head-on. The driver, for unknown reasons, crossed over the median and drove into oncoming traffic but eventually hit a MARTA transit bus. One 15-year-old was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but a 22-year-old, 4-year-old, 12-year-old, and an older teenager died in the crash.

The driver who lost control of the vehicle, went across the center line, and then hit a tree. Many of the first responders reported that the damage at the scene is some of the worst they had ever seen.

No loss in the accident included three children; all three children belonged to the adult who was driving. The big question with the car accident involving the transit bus and the others on this is that there is a clear explanation for why this happened. Please don’t know why left turn lane and went into oncoming traffic saying that they don’t know why shots were fired at the driver on the interstate, and I don’t know why the three cars came into a collision on the connector.

Are Crashes Getting Worse?

While it’s clear that some issues like road rage are getting worse, car accidents are something that we’ve faced for decades. People drive, sometimes well, other times, not so well. But all the same, a crash is the risk of getting into your car. For the people involved in crashes, it’s scary but all the same relatively normal.
