Stockbridge Municipal Court

Stockbridge Municipal Court has jurisdiction over violations of state law and local ordinances that occur within the city limits of Stockbridge.

These violations include traffic, code enforcement, animal control and misdemeanor charges such as DUI, Theft by Shoplifting Less than $500 and Possession of Marijuana, Less than One (1) Oz.

Mandatory Appearances

Mandatory or “must appear” offenses are those for which a defendant is required to appear before the judge in court. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Possession of Marijuana Less Than 1 Oz.
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Driving on a Suspended License
  • Suspended Registration
  • No Insurance
  • All offenses committed by those UNDER 21
  • Animal Control offenses
  • Some Code Enforcement offenses

Clerk of Court

The Clerk of Court is the official depository and custodian of court records. This office maintains all original citations and sentencing orders of defendants and serves as the case manager by arranging court appearances, attending court hearings, preparing the case file, obtaining reports and test results, preparing orders for the judge’s signature, attending court, assessing fines, accepting payments and updating of records by entering conditions of sentence for each offense.
