The Forest Park Department of Fire and Emergency Services provides an all hazards approach to providing services to the citizens of Forest Park and its surrounding community. The dynamics of our ever-changing and diverse community present many challenges for the city and services provided.
The department is responsible for preparing for, responding to, and mitigating incidents involving fires, emergency medical care, heavy rescue, car accidents, vehicle extrication, confined spaces, building collapses, rope rescue, hazardous materials, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives. Coupled along with all these area of response are prevention efforts, safety education, citizen involvement and many other efforts to keeping our homeland safe.
The Forest Park branch library is the newest of the Clayton County libraries. Opening in 2012, the facility houses a state-of-the-art meeting room and computer lab; public-access computers equipped with the latest productivity software; comfortable seating for reading and studying; and a dedicated teen area.
This state-owned market spreads over 146 acres. It is also the distribution hub for the Eastern Seaboard and SE, contributing over $3 billion to the city’s economy.
